This location is one of the best kept secrets around. It has everything. Duck ponds, waterfalls, forests, flower gardens, Japanese water garden, a view of the entire city, bridges and streams…it’s just gorgeous. Weekends in the summer are pretty busy, but it’s so huge that we can usually find a private spot.

The Getty Center Los Angeles

If beautiful gardens and architecture are your inspiration, this is the spot for you. I’ve taken some fantastic family portraits here. I even got my own done at the Getty! Weekends tend to be a little more crowded, so keep that in mind when choosing your date.

The Santa Monica Pier

The Pier location is at:

Lots of great rides. The carousel is always a fun spot for kids. The beach is also right there, but if you are planning a mid day session, it will probably be too bright. Don’t worry if the day is overcast, that’s actually perfect light for shooting. Again, weekends in the summer are very busy.

So many great spots here. Anytime of day works at this location. There are woods and grassy areas, horses and even a carousel. We can almost always find a spot away from any crowds.
