I had such a blast photographing these guys. I forgot how much fun the Long Beach Dog Beach was! We’ll definitely have to do it again, but this time I’ll bring Miss Gabby! Enjoy the photos! Don’t forget to turn up the volume!

Labs Live At Andrei’s 2011

Posted on April 14, 2011

I absolutely love the people at Guide Dogs For The Blind. Everyone is so nice and their devotion to helping the blind is truly heartwarming. And of course, you know I love the dogs. This event is all about the puppies! And the very amazing puppy raisers. These families are first on duty to teach the dogs about life. They raise them from 8 weeks old until about 18 months old when they are ready to go to the Oregon campus to learn the Guide Dog ropes.

As the folks like to say at Guide Dogs, “It takes a community to raise a puppy!” Raisers are responsible for teaching the puppies good house manners and basic obedience, and most importantly, socializing them to the world. No prior experience is necessary to become a puppy raiser; we will help you through the process every step of the way. It is a rewarding, emotional experience, and a commitment for which Guide Dogs is extremely grateful. As a puppy raiser, not only will you discover the delight of a four-footed, wet-nosed companion, you will join a community of like-minded people all working toward improving the quality of life for people who are blind.

These are a few of my favorite shots from the day. So, sit back, turn up the volume and enjoy the puppies at Andrei’s. (which, by the way, has the most amazing food! If you are ever in Irvine, you really need to stop in for a bite to eat!) The rest of the photos will be ready soon!

Don’t forget to turn up the volume! Enjoy!

Meet Esito. Part Love Bug. Part Wolf.

Posted on April 1, 2011

Esito is very very well trained. As you can see. He’s a trained protection dog. Don’t mess with Esito. Or Karin for that matter! I don’t think Sage got the memo. :)

So cool to see my photos in an Italian publication. Woo Hoo! Now if I only knew what it said. Maybe I should go back to my Italian lessons. ;)
